Update(Jan 19, 2014): No news from their side.
Update(Jan 10, 2014): I had a meeting with officials from Pinnacle and we decided to have another meeting with them in the presence of Nissan India officials to resolve the matter.
I would like to let the public and Nissan higher officials know about my horrible experience while buying Nissan Sunny XV Diesel car from Pinnacle Nissan dealer located at Thrissur, Kerala, India.
I have jotted down most of the email conversations as well as oral discussions that I had with Nissan customer care.

I would like to officially complain against a Nissan Dealer whom I had recently dealt with.
I had purchased a Nissan Sunny XV car from Pinnacle Nissan, Trichur and it was delivered to me on 20th September 2013.
I was aware of issue with the faulty braking system which led to Nissan calling back vehicles manufactured before April. I had also come to know that there were many vehicles which got damaged since they were parked on open yards on the rainy season. Because of these, I had requested the dealer while doing the business itself that I needed a car whose make and model was post-July 2013. They convinced me that the car in their stock was an August make and unfortunately I had no means to confirm it then but to believe whatever they said. Only after the car was delivered to me and I got a hold of the VIN number could I find out that the car was manufactured in February 2013 and not in August as they had told me and that I had been cheated. The glass/window in the corner also mentions that it is a 2012 model. The dealer had provided me the vehicle’s data sheet which mentions that the month of manufacturing is august. It was clearly evident that they had even touch-painted areas and scratches on glasses on meter. The floor interior and engine compartment looked dirty and nowhere close to a brand new car. I believe there were stickers on the windows and battery mentioning ‘February’ as the manufacturing month but it looks like they have removed all of them. In addition, they had also informed me that that Nissan is providing 33k worth insurance free offer and only when I received the insurance papers, I found that I was cheated further with insurance worth 14k.
I am herewith attaching the data sheet provided to me by Pinnacle Nissan which states that as per the dealer, the month of manufacturing is August whereas, as per the VIN#, the month of manufacture is February. I am also attaching the copy of the insurance and the quote they have
Furthermore, when I approached the dealer regarding the issue, I was taken aback by their response. The managers team and the sales head of malapuram area along with a couple of other members reminded me that they have their lawyer to take care of the situation and as a common man, I will never be able to win over them.
I believe Nissan values customers and that was one of the reasons why I had selected your business. Hence, I have decided to contact you.
I am requesting you to consider this as my official complaint against the dealer. Dealerships like this might not work good for Nissan to be an established brand in India. I believe that there are many others as well who would have got cheated in a similar manner but I am not aware of how many of them would have approached you. I sincerely request you to further investigate into this matter to ensure that I get justice for my hard-earned money and also nobody else faces a similar situation in future.

Had a call with a gentle man named Shoaib(+9180669xxxxx) who said he is calling from Nissan Complaint Centre.
Here are the meeting minutes.
1) When a customer buy a new Nissan car in September, It is quite normal that he gets a car manufactured in February.
2) Nissan invoiced the car(Vin: MDHBDAN17D20xxxxx) which is manufactured in February to the dealer only on August 20th.
3) Dealer Pinnacle Nissan have a good track record. So nothing is there to worry.
4) Nissan provides free insurance up to Nineteen thousand Rupees only on September for Nissan Sunny XV Diesel car. There is nothing to worry about the matter that I got free Insurance worth only 14k, and 14k Insurance and 19k Insurance are same.
If all above mentioned are true, I am happy, and I don’t have any complaints. Please confirm.

That’s a great news. They simply confirmed everything when I tried to explain my frustrations for not keeping their promises. To rephrase my concerns:
- Selling 6 months old car manufactured in February was sold as August made by manipulating documents and insisting me to believe that this is a new car and is a quite normal procedure.
- Having tires and window glasses that were 2012 made for a car bought on September 2013.
- Providing 14K insurance after promising 33K insurance in the quotation.
- Considering me as a peanut as they were already an established car dealers/manufactures and not replying to my complaints.
Finally, I sent a legal letter to Pinnacle Nissan dealer and Nissan India mentioning about these issues, their negligence and my plans to file a lawsuit. To my surprise, I haven’t received any reply from them yet.
At the time of delivery, when I found they were trying to cheat me, I recorded the whole conversation on my phone. I will be publishing it soon….
With all these frustrations, mental agony and betrayal, I finally decide to go public with my concern to create an awareness to all fellow people who spend their hard earned money to buy their dream car. They should know how a dealer can cheat them by mentioning various mind blowing offers and finally delivering a car not accoridng to our expectations. Most of them even don’t know whether they have been cheated or not. We don’t need to scrutnize to the deepest level. However, there should be a match between what they promise and what they deliver. By this blog, my intentions is not to blame each and every dealers of famous car companies but to shout loudly that I have been cheated by not delivering what they promised and I don’t want anyone to go through these same stuffs.
